Jim Erwin has built his entire career on one premise – to protect. He is a veteran of the U.S. Special Operations Forces, including service as a 1st SFOD-D (Delta) Operator. After leaving active duty, Erwin provided close protection and security for high-profiled clientele across the globe including many high-threat environments. Erwin is a certified FBI Advanced Firearms Instructor, and has earned several instructor certifications for the NRA.
Having grown up in the mountains of Northern California, he spent his youth playing football, hiking the Sierra Nevada and looking out for those who were smaller than he (who was just about everyone he encountered).
In 1989, Mr. Erwin entered the U.S. Army; completing required training, he was assigned to the 2nd Ranger Battalion at Fort Lewis, WA. Mr. Erwin was a Ranger Rifle Team Leader; he led a four-man sniper team for long-range, special operations target interdiction and reconnaissance, airfield seizures, and perimeter security. Mr. Erwin was the Distinguished Honor Graduate of his U.S. Army Sniper Course.
In 1996, Mr. Erwin attended the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta selection course. Of just under 100 candidates, he was 1 of only 5 to complete the course for unit assignment. He served as an Assault Team Member trained for counter terrorism, hostage rescue, close-quarter combat techniques, and high risk security operations. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Erwin led a 25-man long-range surveillance platoon specializing in military free-fall operations.
Mr. Erwin has held many high-threat security contract positions (Bosnia, Iraq, Israel, and Afghanistan); he currently provides close protection for a high-value clients in the U.S. He has extensive training and real-world experience spanning the past 25 years.
Mr. Erwin is currently the head of sales and the face of US Elite, a veteran owned tactical and outdoor adventure gear company, that prides itself on being from the community and offering the highest quality gear on the market.
